While being a front runner in the local trials for Computer Science & Engineering excellence, the Dept of Computer Science & Engineering also keeps the Sri Lankan flag flying high in the international arena, with  the most significant being obtaining the highest number of Google Summer of Code awards for 2007, 2008 and 2009 and becoming  the world top in the total number of cumulative awards for GSoC.
